CHAPTER 1 ; GETTING READY TO LEARN

 


Making the moves from being in school is not an easy task. Student needs to make new friends at the new place which is far from home and family. There also many new things every student needs to know and adapt to a new environment in university life.

LEARNING STYLES & CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESSFUL 

8 STEPS TO COLLEGE SUCCESS

  •       Attend All Classes.

 One of the best ways to be successful in college is to attend all classes. Although you will be tested on material from the course text, most of the test questions will come from lectures.

  •        Become an Active Learner

  We cannot just read the book or notes couple of times but we must write and recite the information to get it into long term memory.

  •        Participate in Class. 

   We must be an active person in class such as give the feedback about the subject that being thought and ask the question to the lecturer .

  •        Get to Know Your Lecturers.

   As a student , we should know our lecture especially their names .  If you get to know your instructors, you may feel more comfortable asking for help when you need it.

  •        Form Study Groups with Friends.

  This is one of the good strategies to success in college . Students can remember the points easier and can make the discussion with friends easily . But make sure , you choose your friends who serious and doing well in their studies because they will contribute us later . Study Groups of about 3-4 people are known to be very effective. 

  •      Stay Up to Date with Your Work

  We should never procrastinated our work . So we can catch up other things and always stay up to date . Never procrastinate!

  •      Be Receptive to Change.

   Do some change in our study strategies . It’s could be better to do some change if not we can’t never see how our performance being .

  •        Work Hard This Semester.

 It’s important to us to always set in our mind to the our best and work hard to something that we want to archive .

CHARACTERISTICS OF GOALS 

  • SPECIFIC
  - Your goal has to be specific such as next year must be better than this year,want a great grades in exam or want to be a great student college.
  • MEASURABLE
  - The goal has to be measurable. You have to be able to measure your progress with accessible numbers that are directly indicative and meaningful to your pursuit.
  • ATTAINABLE 
  - Goals should push you , but it is important that there are achievable . Are your goals attainable ? 
  • REALISTIC
  - Is your goal and timeframe realistic for the goal you have established?
  • TIMELY
  - Do you have a timeframe listed in your SMART goal ? This helps you be accountable and helps in motivation . 

There are two term of goals short term goals which is mean to academic goals and long short term goals which is mean to personal goals.



MY PERSONAL GOALS ✌

  • I want to make my family proud with me because I am the first child in the family, so I have to be good example to my younger sister .


  • I want to be an active learner who is always join sports event , club & etc
  • I want to graduate as a student diploma & degree .


  • I wan to find a good job to get a good salary and I will treat my family with my own money!
  • I want to buy a car and have my own house .
  • I want to take care my parents for the rest of my life 


  • I want to marry with someone who loves me sincerely and always with me .


MY ACADEMIC GOALS💪

  • I want to do an assignment early and make sure all assignment submit before due date.
  • I want to get 3.0 pointer above every semester .
  • I want to be more confident when presentation class .
  • I must attend every class unless there is an unavoidable reason .
  • I need to do some revision by chapter before lecture teach .
